Youth Leadership Glynn Program

Youth Leadership Glynn is a dynamic leadership development program designed to identify, equip, and inspire high school students throughout Glynn County to become informed, engaged, and service-minded leaders within their schools and community. Open to rising sophomores and juniors from Glynn County high schools, the program accepts approximately 35 participants annually. Through interactive sessions, hands-on experiences, and direct exposure to local businesses, industries, government, healthcare, education, and community organizations, participants gain a deeper understanding of the issues, opportunities, and resources that shape the Golden Isles region. The program encourages students to strengthen their leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while building meaningful relationships with peers and community leaders.

Applications for Youth Leadership Glynn open each year following Spring Break, with interviews taking place in May. Students will apply through their school guidance counselors, so applicants are encouraged to watch for school communications announcing the program and application process. The program begins with Orientation during the first week of October and continues through May, concluding with a fun end-of-year celebration recognizing participants and their accomplishments throughout the program.

Program sessions are held once a month on Thursdays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Because of the program’s highly interactive nature and the importance of relationship-building throughout the year, attendance and participation are essential. Participants are expected to attend all program sessions and activities, as there are no make-up opportunities for missed sessions. Students selected for the program should be prepared to prioritize Youth Leadership Glynn commitments alongside their academic and extracurricular responsibilities to ensure they fully benefit from the experience and contribute meaningfully to the program.

Youth Leadership Glynn continues to positively impact the community by developing future leaders who are prepared to serve, lead, and contribute to Glynn County’s continued success for years to come.
